City of Algoma Profile

The land that is now known as the City of Algoma was first settled in the Spring of 1851

That land was incorporated into the City of Ahnapee on February 28th, 1879

In 1897 the City's name was changed from City of Ahnapee to the City of Algoma

Algoma is an Indian word meaning "Park of Flowers."

The current population of Algoma is 3373.

Algoma is located 30 miles East of Green Bay on Highways 54 & 42
